Its inspirational urban form is derived from a series of interlocking arcs, with carefully resolved north and east facades set behind a flush continuous curtain wall of silver/ black glass. The formal purity of this fluted extrusion is maintained by avoiding undue appendages or protuberances. Internally, the sculptural form offers intelligent planning solutions with 84 apartment layouts varying in size and type. Balencea’s 5 star energy rating is achieved through orientation, double-glazing, tinted glass, and cross ventilation. Balencea achieves the Architects’ stated goal of creating a positive and optimistic building, and epitomizes a successful collaboration between architect and developer. |
